Our activities boost confidence, enhance skills and learning, provide a sense of achievement, and encourage mindfulness.

Women's 8 Week Creative
Business Start Programme

This programme is for women who would like to begin the journey to becoming their own boss, working through an initial action plan in an encouraging and supportive environment.

Could you turn your love of art or craft into a successful business!?!
Have you ever wanted to explore how you could turn your "hobby" or side hustle into a small business? Ever wondered if you could earn an income from something you’re passionate about?

This 8 week programme will enable you to explore ideas around starting your own small business. It includes ‘thinking time’ looking at key areas such as defining your business idea, goal setting, marketing, staying motivated and more. You’ll begin to gain clarity around your idea(s) and visualise success.  Through  a journalling approach and other artistic tasks, you'll boost your confidence and your creative thinking. In each session, participants will work in their 'Mixed Media Personal Goals Journal', which will form the start of a mini "business plan".

Perhaps you bake or paint, or maybe you’re good at crafting, pottery, gardening, organising parties or some other creative endeavour?
With dedicated "creative time" you'll take away a mini “business plan” using a creative journalling approach.

Testimonitals:

"Many thanks again for your wonderful business course in the Women's Centre, Magherafelt.  I continue to journal everyday and find such a great comfort in knowing even on my days of doubt I can go back to my journal and see all of the strong and positive reasons why I want to go forward with this as a business. Once again, many thanks for your wonderful course." (Edel)

"I had forgotten how much I love journaling and will definitely continue to use this creative modality when planning and goal setting for the future. I feel that I have more clarity on what my business is and what I need to do as the next steps. My confidence in planning my business grew alot, and I was very satisfied with the course and would highly recommend it to others." (Rachel)

"I didn't really know what to expect, but I've been pleasantly surprised by how much clarity I've gained in such a short period of time. Through the visual mapping exercise, I managed to connect to my why, which without, was always holding me back from progressing and feeling confident or clear in how I wanted to show up in the world. Since doing this exercise, all the other following activities felt easier to tackle. I'm now starting from a place of clarity and excitement, and not from procrastination and stress! I've enjoyed being part of a small group to hear and soundboard with. I am alot more confident and would recommend the course to others." (Amy)
